When developing a simple blog or a full on corporate / business site then there are alot of open source cms systems that can be utilized. You don’t have to stick with the blend themes they come with there are companies like Rockettheme , Elegant Themes etc than can assist you in giving your site the million dollar look .
Here are some of the cms’s that i have personally used:
- Joomla – http://www.joomla.org
- WordPress – http://www.wordpress.org
- Drupal – http://www.drupal.org
Each of the above cms have there strengths and weaknesses you just need to decide the type of functionality you require and see which one meets your needs the best.
All these cms’s are backed up by a huge user group & community they have many free and commerical plugins that can be added to them which can help achieve the functionality that it desired.
I have just recently begun blogging here at WordPress and plainly love the experience.As of yet I haven’t gotten what I would view a great deal of views or remarks so I’m not positive what this fuller world of blogging supposes of my work. It is with extraordinary pride that I state my blogging most assuredly reflects my ego and disregardless of what the world thinks or does not think of my work I shall go on to pour my spirit and soul out through my magical keyboard onto the great white page.
